When to visit Rafina

Rafina has a classic Mediterranean climate — hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters. Here's the year at a glance for trip planning:

• Jun–Aug: hot and busy, with the most ferries and the liveliest port. Book ahead and arrive early.
• May, Sep–Oct: warm, calmer and our favourite window — good swimming, fewer crowds, plenty of sailings.
• Nov–Apr: cooler and quieter, with a reduced (but year-round) ferry schedule. Andros runs all year.

Sailing soon? In windy spells the high-speed catamarans feel the swell more than the larger ferries — if you're prone to seasickness, the bigger boat is the smoother ride. Check live times in the ferry search.
