Rafina port quay with cars and ferries

Parking at Rafina port

Where to leave the car — and when to skip it

There's no free parking on the quay itself, but you'll find paid parking a short walk from the ferries and street parking around town. For a multi-day island trip, use a paid lot so you're not chasing a space when you get back.

Where can you park at Rafina port?

Rafina port sits right beside the town, so you have three realistic options: the municipality's controlled street parking — free for your first 3 hours — or one of two private "Safe Park" lots a short walk from the ferries.

  • Municipal street parking (S.E.S.) — the controlled bays run by the Municipality of Rafina-Pikermi. The first 3 hours are free, then €2.00/hour, paid via the Novoville app or at local kiosks. Controlled May–Sep daily 07:00–20:00 (in winter, Fri–Sun only). Great for a few hours, not a multi-day trip.
  • Safe Park Harbour — a private lot about 50 m from the port (160 spaces), roughly €11/day. Open 06:00 until the last ferry. Reserve by phone.
  • Safe Park Beach — a larger lot about 300 m away by the beach and Kraken bar (200 spaces), roughly €10/day. Same hours; reserve by phone.
  • No free parking on the quay — the dockside is for boarding only.

Day trip or leaving the car for the week?

How long you're away changes the smart choice.

  • Arrive early in summer; the central bays fill up fast.
Several days on the islands
  • Book a Safe Park lot (~€10–11/day) so your car is safe and your space is kept.
  • Or skip the drive: take a transfer and rent a car on the island.

The parking questions we hear most.

Is there parking at Rafina port?
Yes. There's the municipality's controlled street parking (free for the first 3 hours, then €2.00/hour) and two private "Safe Park" lots a short walk from the ferries — Harbour (~50 m, about €11/day) and Beach (~300 m, about €10/day). There's no free parking on the quay itself.
How much is parking at Rafina?
Municipal street parking gives you 3 free hours, then charges €2.00 per hour (May–Sep daily 07:00–20:00; winter Fri–Sun only). The private Safe Park lots are roughly €10–11 per day, open from 06:00 until the last ferry.
Can I leave my car at Rafina for several days?
Yes — for an island trip use a Safe Park lot (about €10–11/day) rather than the street. They're a 1–4 minute walk from the port and you reserve a space by phone. The lots aren't guarded, so take any valuables with you.
Should I just skip driving to the port?
If you're coming from Athens Airport, many travellers find a transfer or the €4 KTEL bus easier than driving and parking — then rent a car on the island if you need one. See our transfers guide.
