Athens Airport public buses
Four 24-hour express lines link the airport with Athens, Piraeus and the intercity bus stations. Useful for a city stop or an onward connection — but note that none of them serve Rafina.
Direct to the city centre (Syntagma Square) — walking distance from the Acropolis, Plaka and Monastiraki.
The coastal route to Piraeus — the bus to take only if your ferry leaves from Piraeus rather than Rafina.
Connects the airport with the two intercity (KTEL) bus stations, about every 40 minutes — for onward travel across the Greek mainland.
Links the airport with Elliniko metro station for the southern suburbs and the rest of the metro network.
Flat fare €5.50, paid on board. All four lines run 24 hours a day, roughly every 30–60 minutes, from the stop on the arrivals level between Exit 4 and Exit 5. The standard €1.20 Athens city ticket is not valid to or from the airport — buy an ATH.ENA ticket at the airport booth or machines, or tap a contactless card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Getting around Rafina
Rafina itself is compact and walkable — the port, the ticket offices, the tavernas and the shops are all within a few minutes of each other, so once you arrive you rarely need transport in town.
For the beaches and nearby spots — Artemida, Nea Makri, Marathon and Schinias — a taxi or a pre-booked transfer is the easiest way, since they're not all on a convenient bus route. Travelling as a group or planning a few stops? A minibus transfer can work out well — just ask us.
